Quarrying at the Bryn site is historic, the farm house and neighbouring manor house Llancaiach Fawr, both built in the 1550s, are thought to be built with stone excavated from the original quarry.
Quarry stones and more
The current quarry was opened in the early 1990s to supply the needs of the Bryn farm. But it quickly expanded as there was an increased demand from customers for high-quality aggregate products.

Superior aggregates supply
The Blue Pennant Sandstone, with its rich autumnal colours, is very popular for landscaping and dry stone walling; and its strength makes it suitable for construction and road building. The Bryn Group achieved the highest industrial standards for aggregates and management accolades, having been awarded ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001.
