We are grateful to the Caerphilly planning committee members for approving our planning application last night (12 Feb 2025), and for recognising the hard work we have done to address their concerns with our earlier application.
The quarry will be able to meet a much-needed demand for the scarce and strategically important sandstone aggregate found at Gelliargwellt Uchaf, while also delivering environmental improvements, educational opportunities, and community benefits.
We will continue to work within the strict safety guidelines associated with quarrying, as well as the numerous planning conditions imposed and enforced by the local authority.
We will:
Post warnings on our social media channels on the morning of blasting
Send WhatsApp text messages directly to individuals who have requested this service
Monitor each blast to measure the vibrations caused at the nearest property and elsewhere on request
Constantly monitoring of air quality at both PM2.5 and PM10 micrometres
Periodically publish data
